We are alarmed by the recent reign of terror unleashed by the Myanmar security forces against the Rohingya population in the Rakhaine State—shooting unarmed civilians, raping women and torching homes since more than a dozen soldiers and police were killed last month by armed men whom the UN described as “ethnic armed organisations.'
জাতিসংঘের ভাষ্য মতে, গত মাসে নৃ-তাত্ত্বিক স্ব-শস্ত্র সংস্থার সদস্য কর্তৃক প্রায় ১২ জনের বেশি সৈনিক ও পুলিশ সদস্য নিহত হওয়ার ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে মিয়ানমারের নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী কর্তৃক রাখাইন রাজ্যের রোহিঙ্গা জনগোষ্ঠীর বিরুদ্ধে লেলিয়ে দেওয়া সাম্প্রতিক ভয়াভহ ত্রাসে- বেসামরিক মানুষ হত্যা, নারীরদেরকে ধর্ষণ এবং ঘর-বাড়ি
জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়ায় আমরা আতঙ্কিত ।
The security agencies have a right to find out the identities of the attackers but that does not justify violence on a group of people made stateless by a controversial 1982 law.
সহিংসতা সৃষ্টিকারীদেরর পরিচয় খুজে বের করার অধিকার নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর আছে; কিন্তু এর অর্থ এই নয় যে, একটি গোষ্ঠির জনগণের উপর সহিংসতা চাপিয়ে দিতে হবে; যেখানে ১৯৮২ সালের বিতর্কিত আইন দ্বারা তাদের কে দেশ ছাড়া করা হয় ।
Laws discriminate against them, infringing on their freedom of movement, education and
employment and land rights and ownership.
আইনগতভাবে তারা বৈষম্যের শিকার, যা তাদের স্বাধীনতা আন্দোলন, শিক্ষা, কর্ম, ভূমির অধিকার এবং সর্বোপরি স্বত্বহীন করে।
