The news of Bangladesh being among the countries in Asia with least forest is unsettling
এশিয়ার ন্যূনতম বনভূমির দেশগুলোর মধ্যে বাংলাদেশের অবস্থানের খবর পীড়াদায়ক।
According to data released by the Asian Development Bank, the country has only 11.2 percent of its land mass under forest, a whopping 13.8 percent short of the desired forest cover
এশীয় উন্নয়ন ব্যাংকের প্রকাশিত তথ্য অনুযায়ী, দেশের মোট ভূমির মাত্র ১১.২ শতাংশ বনভূমি রয়েছে, যা কাঙ্ক্ষিত বনভূমির পরিমানের চেয়ে ১৩.৮ শতাংশের সমান খুব বড় ধরনের স্বল্পতা।
That this has happened in spite of a string of a forestation drives is disappointing

The negative effects of these self-sabotaging actions are manifested in the form of the heating of the climate, not to mention the desertification of certain areas that will cause catastrophic effects on habitation and cultivation in the long run.
